new job - new work needed
Serious about book but now need to be serious about a new job or new work setup. Find working in a goldfish bowl too mindnumbing now and feel dumbed down by what is expected of me or not expected of me. hard to tell when management don't talk to you or communicate anything to you. Keep falling in to the trap of negativity and unworthiness. I know that nothing they do, or don't do is because of me or concerning me - but I wish I could just not take it on board or react badly. Work - being paid - is so unnatural as things you normally wouldn't allow in your personal life pervade the work life. MMMMmmmmmmm what to do?? How to do it? Challenge for the month!!! Get Serious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taking my book to the printer to today to arrange to have 100 copies printed!!!! Very exciting !! Also finalising the second book - just waiting on a photo. This has been some time (3 years in the process - first I had the sayings and was wondering how to put a book together with illustrations or something - then I took photographs and then I realised that I was the illustrator of my book!!

Inspired
Another Jamie dinner - pork, pears and parsnips. Quite a lovely (and different combination). Went to Melbourne to visit Kay and go to South Melbourne market. Bustling and fun. So much delicious food available. Pity we live so far away and nothing to compare in Ballarat. Got Talia's sashimi tuna, goats cheeses, turkish bread, pate, coriander pesto. Also checked out Cosko's. Huge area and quite daunting but lots of possibilities for inexpensive presents. Bought some bread and met Lola Berry - http://www.lolaberry.com/ good ideas for healthier living in her book that Kay bought. Feel ready for healthier eating and enjoying good food again as it has been along time since I enjoyed food after my candida, bloating and stress issues

I was inspired after watching the movie Julie and Julia. Julie cooked all 524 of Julia's recipes in 365 days, kept a blog, wrote a book and then the movie was made. Something about cooking fascinates me, I tear out pages from magazines, buy food magazines and cookbooks but rarely use them. Mmmmm.... why? Another example of no-one tells me what to do - not even me!!
Also I watched Jamie Oliver's travels in Italy and again was inspired by the episode at the monastery. The monastery was famous for it's cooking and herb garden spanning back centuries. Jamie was disappointed in the food the monks ate - mostly processed and the herb garden had been decimated - the monks didn't have time - prayers mostly I presume. Anyway, jamie decided to cook for and with them and what a difference that made for the monks. I decided I would cook from his recipe book and this was my first attempt - I used thin bacon instead of prosciutto but it still tasted absolutely delicious. The lentils, lemon and herb will become one of my favourite side dishes. I went out and bought more herbs today to plant. It was a lovely feelinglast night picking parsley, coriander and mint and using linda's lemons.

Some thoughts today after sorting out my pictures and sayings for Are you serious? version 1 and going to get 100 copies created. Send a copy to Barbara Barber and Marita Ryan. It was at a coaching session with Marita that it was born. Sell Linton so I can create options to work less at COB and more on what I want to do. Continue writing my book - are you serious? NOt Just Housework - get this up and running. Look at the other books as well - RE and -I knew I was serious when. Sort out email address - would prefer anneholloway@. Book marks. Get stickers made for current blog and yahoo. Get a business card made.

energy is going in the wrong direction
Saturday, August 21, 2010
Winter is not my best time to be creative. Too busy keeping warm. Long days at work also don't help - too full on with non creative things and hard to swap over into creative. Couple of new sayings - though. Are you being thrifty or self depriving? Are you still reacting to triggers or putting strategies in place to allow you to act? So ence

If pigs could fly
here are the pigs to match my 3 blind mice - I am starting to feel that the gallery is a bit like - if pigs could fly. Work is taking up all my mental and physical energy. Hard to focus on creativity. Over winter too - got he winter sads - it seems a surprise to wake up on Saturday and go outside and see the garden. Only a few plants frost affected this year - more shelter around.

New house
I never thought I would be able to move into town from the country. Done deal now. very small - here is the view from kitchen to front of the house. Will be fun finding small furniture to fit in the house. Lots of colourful knick knacks to be added to make it fun. Studio bedroom outside and 'family' room outside too. Can't wait to be able to walk everywhere - especially Wilsons and the movies. Courses, gym, walking around the lake. Coffee and cake, museums and photography and media courses. I still have my house in Linton - not sure what will happen there.
Winter - cold days - cold nights - dark
Past the longest night and on the way to spring. Not much creativity happening but have spoken to a printer and will do a smaller book with a "thick cardboard" kind of cover rather than a hard cover. The new house is finalised and very excited to have it even though I will not be living there for a while. At least the option is now there to live in town. Looking forward to being able to spend time there as well as in the country

Three Blind Mice
These mice are going to be what passers by see when they go past our Gallery. Hopefully the right people will be intrigued at what we might have inside. Printed some cards yesterday but not as good as those printed at Ballarat Camera House. Need consistency in product. Also need to know what card/paper they use to print and possibly look at a better printer for me. Label stickers for my works - find out how to get printed. Lots of things to think about and plan for. Also setup for the room and kitchen things to be able to provide nibbles and drinks

Met some lovely people yesterday by chance at the Merimbula market. Jane invited us to meet them later at their home in Cobargo where they make - funnily enough - homemade icecream. On the way there we stopped in at http://www.ivyhill.com.au/ to see two amazing exhibitions of photography - Bob Georgeson and Christine McMahon - very inspiring and thought provoking. Then on to Cobargo. Met up with Jane and later had a drink with them both at the local pub where they shared insights to starting and being in business which was just what I needed. Hopefully we will see them again in Victoria at http://romanticvineyard.com . I am actually in business just haven't adapted to the thought myself. Feel like a fake which is a common feeling. Bought a CD at the market from a young man wanting to further his career into singing and got a real perspective on what it means to follow your path. It means doing what you have to do and what you want to do and also getting input from others which may alter your direction. All very inspiring.

Books of interest for the gallery
Saw Rob looking at books in a second hand bookshop today. Marilyn Monroe and Harley Davidson. Started us thinking about what other 'things of interest" could be in the gallery for people to look at and browse through. The idea being that people come to see the photos, chat, drink (coffee or wine/beer) and maybe have photos taken of their bikes and cars. Rob bought the Marilyn Monroe book and I am going back to get the Harley one as I want to look at the types of photos in it. Acouple of groups we have identified as being ones we would like to invite are - Ballarat Rockers, The God Squad and The feral Car Club.

Gallery - researching how and what to set up
We are wanting to set up a gallery. What does that mean? What does that look like? so on this holiday we are going to look at and talk about galleries and how we would like it to look. Buying a notebook today to add ideas to. Went to the cantina in Merimbula last night and liked the concept and the people there.
